Garena introduced it's Garena Professional League (GPL) in May 2012, a 6-month-long professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. The initial season of GPL is the League of Legends competition which has six teams of professional players. which represent top players from their respective countries. GPL matches are recorded and broadcast live on-line with commentary. These games are made available for viewing on the GPL's official website. Garena Premier League 2013, started on the 4th of January 2013 and will comprise two new teams: one each coming from Taiwan and Vietnam. It brings the number of teams up to eight. These teams include: AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok) and Kuala Lumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur) The Manila Eagles(Manila) and Taipei Assassins. Singapore Sentinels. Garena's ESports Stadium that is exclusively dedicated to esports at the Neihu District Taipei, opened on the 14th of November on the 14th of November, 2014. The facility opened in November 2014 in time for the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. The league is the world's premier LoL Taiwanese as well as Hong Kongese and Macau LoL League that was created from the GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League, a women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. It's a monthly tournament that is held during the second quarter of each month. It aims to encourage participation by under-represented groups and is open to women who identify as female. Garena organizes offline events for users who want to network and get together. This includes events like the annual Garena Carnival that is held in Singapore and Malaysia.
