Garena introduced it's Garena Professional League (GPL) in May 2012, a 6-month-long professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. The initial season of GPL is the League of Legends competition which has six teams of professional players. which represent top players from their respective countries. The facility opened in November 2014 in time for the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. The league is the world's premier LoL Taiwanese as well as Hong Kongese and Macau LoL League that was created from the GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League, a women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. It's a monthly tournament that is held during the second quarter of each month. It aims to encourage participation by under-represented groups and is open to women who identify as female.
